Movies and Musicals at Christmas.

On Sunday 1st December Gareth appeared at the Apollo theatre London together with John Owen Jones, Louise Dearman, Sarah Lark, the LSG Orchestra and the West End Gospel Choir for an evening of Movies and Musicals at Christmas.

Gareth’s Eye of the Sparrow, Unchained Melody and his Beauty and the Beast duet with Louise Dearman were a huge hit with the audience.

Reviewers at West End Frame agreed, even mentioning Gareth’s vocal gymnastics being highly impressive!

While Gareth Gates is best known for his music career in recent years he has become an established musical theatre performer, having played leading roles in Joseph, Les Miserables, Legally Blonde and Loserville. I am always very technical when it comes to reviewing vocal performances, and I was completely taken aback by his incredibly soulful rendition of ‘His Eye Is On The Sparrow’. His vocal gymnastics were highly impressive! He then treated the audience to a strong performance of ‘Unchained Melody’ (why not?).

Gareth and Cinderella

Gareth celebrates the forthcoming Christmas season, playing the role of Prince Charming in St. Albans pantomine – Cinderella.

With rehearsals underway and first night Friday 6th December 2013 we wish Gareth lots of luck.

Will the slipper fit we wonder?…………… (Watch out for He’s behind you too)

He made it-as did the other guys in the band! Performing new acoustic tracks with his guitarist Pete, he and his band then went on to rock Buxton. Gareth’s tweet promised fun for the night and he certainly delivered. One fan who braved the elements (and a five hour train journey) managed to record Can’t Believe It’s Over from Gareth’s third album-Pictures Of The Other Side:
