Eric Woolfson Somewhere in the AudienceCelebrating the work of Eric Woolfson, a CD of new recordings of his work has been released, titled ‘Somewhere in the Audience’.  It boasts a host of West End and Broadway performers, including our very own Gareth Gates singing ‘Closer to Heaven’, which features in the musical ‘Gaudi’.

Boogie Nights Tour

The Tour featuring The Osmonds kicked off in Datford on 31.1.13 and finished in Swindon 20.4.13 travelling round the country at some 50+ theatres including Brighton, Swansea, Hull, London 02 and Glasgow.

Gareth was the new Donny (singing Puppy Love) and how the crowd loved him.

Les Miserables vs Phantom – charity football match

Gareth will be joining the casts of Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera this Sunday, 2nd September, to take part in a charity football match and fun day fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support, in support of Les Miserables wig mistress Melanie Oakley-Dow.   There be some other celebrity guests and former professional footballers.

It will take place on Sunday 2nd September 2012. Fun Starts at 1pm with Kick off at 3pm. The match will end around 5pm.

Tickets will only be available on the day at the stadium: Adults £10 – Children/Concessions £5

The fun day and match will be taking place at:

Boogie Nights

Stand by for an announcement tomorrow (Thursday) of next year’s tour of Boogie Nights, starring Gareth along with sone of the Osmonds, Andy Abraham, Shane Ritchie Jnr, and Chico, with tickets going on sale this coming Saturday.   A few dates have already been leaked, including 2nd and 3rd March at Indigo2, 22nd March at the Bradford Alhambra, and Llandudno, for a date as yet unknown!

The Three Little Pigs – CD out 25th June 2012

A studio recording of the children’s musical “The Three Little Pigs”, written by Stiles & Drewe will be released on 25th June.  Gareth plays one of the pigs (the clever one who opted for bricks).   The other pigs are played by Amy Lennox and Lewis Barnshaw, and their mother is played by Alison Jear.  Clive Rowe is the wolf.

You can pre-order the CD (signed by Stiles & Drewe) on the Dress Circle shop, and listen to some of the tracks on the SimG Productions website.

Backstage at Loserville

With rehearsals well underway at Loserville, Gareth has filmed a couple of video clips telling us more.

Last Monday was the first day of Loserville rehearsals, starting with a meet and greet, and read through of the script.  The good people at the West Yorkshire Playhouse saw fit to record it, and made it into a video!

Momentous Musicals: New Wimbledon Theatre 19th July

Gareth will be starring in a one off special production of Momentous Musicals at the New Wimbledon Theatre, London, on 19th July 2012.

Gareth Gates leads this sophisticated homage to musical theatre, featuring songs from much-loved shows including West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked and Miss Saigon. He is joined by a cast of West End stars including blonde bombshell Rachael Wooding (Jersey Boys, Hairspray), an amazing ensemble of dancers and a live on stage band.
