Snowdrop
According to MediaGuardian, last night's DOI averaged 8.9 million viewers, peaking at 9.9 million from 7:30 onwards - the bit Gaz was on. And they published this rather dishy photo.
Val4Gareth
Just came to post that Snowdrop. With an emphasis on this little bit The show, which was moved from its original Saturday night slot as part of ITV1's new schedule, pulled in an average of 8.9 million viewers and a 36% share for its first instalment between 5.50pm and 7.50pm, peaking at 9.9 million in the 15 minutes from 7.30pm, according to unofficial overnight ratings. Note the time when the viewing figures peaked. I do believe a certain young man was skating around about that time :hyper:
Snowdrop
They would probably be expected to peak at the end anyway, but I'm quite sure they deliberately saved Gareth until last to keep people tuned in. I read a review in a blog last night that was a bit sniffy about the show in general, partly for saving Gareth until the end - a bit like Match of the Day putting the Manchester United match on last.
Guest GarethsHotChick
Thank You for posting that up Snowdrop, 9.9 million viewers is excellent. Gareth must of had people interested in seeing how he and Maria would get on.

Khelda
I got the rating from DS and the poster also says this: :frantics: That's the best second week ratings out of all three series. The performance show is higher than all the performance shows last year (apartt from the final). The result shower is also higher than all the results show last year (apart from the final). Val4Gareth
20/1/08- Second Week Overnight RatingsDancing on Ice: 9m (37%) *peak: 10.2m at 7.15pm. Dancing On Ice: The Skate-Off: 8m (30%) That's the best second week ratings out of all three series. The performance show is higher than all the performance shows last year (apart from the final). The result shower is also higher than all the results show last year (apart from the final). Peaked at 7.15pm Gareth skated at 7.23pm I know the theory was that the peak always comes at the end of the show. But it seems a bit of a coincidence that both weeks so far its peaked just before Gareth skated  :hyper:
VickyGates
He's just a star. It's natural anyone in their right mind would want to watch him! I recorded it and when I went back to edit out the bits I didn't want last night didn't even watch the rest of them.
Snowdrop
Clever Gaz. And well done everyone else involved who deserve some portion of the praise! It is an excellent show, with a great combination of glitz, glamour, skill, drama and a bit of comedy for good measure. Khelda
Pity the viewing figures have gone down, hope they will rise again.
Val4Gareth
Don't they usually go down slightly after the first couple of weeks and then start picking up again towards the end?
Snowdrop
I think dipping after the first couple of weeks is inevitable. People tune in out of curiosity at first, but then it takes a while for the tension and general excitement to build again.
Heather
It's unfortunate that a couple of journalists have been extremely rude about the show and all the competitors including Philip and Holly. Don't know why they should be so insulting and bitter.
Val4Gareth
Slightly higher viewing figures for last night, but they haven't given the breakdown this week as yet 3/2/08- Fourth Week Overnight RatingsDancing on Ice: 9m (36%) Dancing On Ice: The Skate-Off: 8.4m (31%) Great ratings. Snowdrop
It's unfortunate that a couple of journalists have been extremely rude about the show and all the competitors including Philip and Holly. Don't know why they should be so insulting and bitter. Because it is popular. And some journalists entire raison d'etre is to find something to be rude about this week, and they have to be rude about things people have heard of, so DOI is an inevitable target for them. Feel pity for them - imagine having a job that requires you to look for things to be miserable about?

Feel pity for them - imagine having a job that requires you to look for things to be miserable about? I see, couldn't help wondering why. Even Jeremy Clarkson was jumping on the band wagon in the Sun today when he said that people we've never heard of, these so called celebrities, are skimming round the ice, and he only mentioned it because he wanted to talk about Holly's cleavage! He has lots of people on his show that the public have never heard of.
Val4Gareth
The viewing figures were a bit down last week. But they were down in general as well.
