Just came to post that Snowdrop. With an emphasis on this little bit

The show, which was moved from its original Saturday night slot as part of ITV1's new schedule, pulled in an average of 8.9 million viewers and a 36% share for its first instalment between 5.50pm and 7.50pm, peaking at 9.9 million in the 15 minutes from 7.30pm, according to unofficial overnight ratings.

Note the time when the viewing figures peaked. I do believe a certain young man was skating around about that time :hyper:

They would probably be expected to peak at the end anyway, but I'm quite sure they deliberately saved Gareth until last to keep people tuned in. I read a review in a blog last night that was a bit sniffy about the show in general, partly for saving Gareth until the end - a bit like Match of the Day putting the Manchester United match on last.

Thank You for posting that up Snowdrop, 9.9 million viewers is excellent. Gareth must of had people interested in seeing how he and Maria would get on.

I got the rating from DS and the poster also says this: :frantics:

That's the best second week ratings out of all three series. The performance show is higher than all the performance shows last year (apartt from the final). The result shower is also higher than all the results show last year (apart from the final).

20/1/08- Second Week Overnight Ratings

Dancing on Ice: 9m (37%) *peak: 10.2m at 7.15pm.

Dancing On Ice: The Skate-Off: 8m (30%)

Peaked at 7.15pm

Gareth skated at 7.23pm

I know the theory was that the peak always comes at the end of the show. But it seems a bit of a coincidence that both weeks so far its peaked just before Gareth skated  :hyper:

Gareth will keep pushing the viewing figures up. He's just so fantastic to watch, and Maria too. They are a very handsome couple.

This week's ratings

27/1/08- Third Week Overnight Ratings

Dancing on Ice: 8.6m (37%) *peak: 9.7m at 7.15pm.

Dancing On Ice: The Skate-Off: 7.6m (29%)

The performance show is better than the equivalent show in Series 1, and just slightly lower than series 2. The results show is the best week 3 results show out of all 3 series.

Still doing very well

It's unfortunate that a couple of journalists have been extremely rude about the show and all the competitors including Philip and Holly. Don't know why they should be so insulting and bitter.

Because it is popular. And some journalists entire raison d'etre is to find something to be rude about this week, and they have to be rude about things people have heard of, so DOI is an inevitable target for them. Feel pity for them - imagine having a job that requires you to look for things to be miserable about?

I see, couldn't help wondering why. Even Jeremy Clarkson was jumping on the band wagon in the Sun today when he said that people we've never heard of, these so called celebrities, are skimming round the ice, and he only mentioned it because he wanted to talk about Holly's cleavage! He has lots of people on his show that the public have never heard of.
