A song for Gareth ended up with Will (sort of).

I have heard about this event, with a songwriter being asked to write a song for Gareth and a(the) song ended up with Will but here is the background to how it all happened.

I actually read that before, shame he did not come up with a good x-mas song for Gareth. But then Gareth did have a good x-mas song (x-mas to remember), but of course in their 'wisdom' it was not released, Figure!!

Yes, I've heard that before too. Like it said in the article `just luck'. Just luck that Simon Fuller was more intent on making Will a star rather than Gareth, yet they were both on the same label at the time. I'm positive Gareth would have sung it with more feeling and emotion that Will ever did.

That's the end of my returning to the Will/Gareth story but it has always rankled with me that Gareth didn't get that song to sing.

Have to say I was never keen on the song and thought in my opinion the song was more suited to Will than it was to Gareth.

The thing that struck me most about this article was how not only one song can change your career but how appearing on one TV show and 'charming' people can have such an influence too.

However we are able to still go to venues and hear Gareth sing. That's the brilliant news.
