  1. I was just about to post that Gareth had been on BBC Breakfast but Doris beat me to it.

He was on at 8.50 with Davina de Campo for nearly 10 mins. Programme available for next 24 hours only. He faced his fear of live interviews like he said he would on Instagram. He looked and sounded wonderful xx

  2. Thanks for your reports of the show and for the set list - it's very hard to remember all the songs Gareth sang and especially the order, so well done spotting Gareth's list on stage and taking pics. (I assume you weren't brave enough to take the actual pieces of paper 🤷🏼‍♀️) Would have particularly liked to have heard 'Bad Habits' in full, but actually hearing and seeing him live after all this time (whatever he sang) would have been amazing.

Very pleased you had a good night but I expected nothing less.

Edits to say the photos are great (I love seeing Gareth playing the piano, he seems to caress the keys) - thanks for them too.

  3. Pretty sure that Gareth was taking extensions out of Chloe's hair. He seems to be concentrating very hard.

Blimey wish he was available to do my hair.

Now wouldn't that be lovely! Can just imagine him singing softly as he worked (you're getting carried away there, Linda).

Don't know when I'll get to a hairdresser for a much needed cut, but luckily my daughter was able to colour it last week. I'm sure they're going to be very busy once they can open up again.

  4. It was superb seeing Gareth on 'Jane & Friends' last night. I loved that his duet with Jane was something I'd never heard Gareth sing before (in fact something I ddn't know at all). He sounded fantastic and his voice went well with Jane's. I've rewatched his performances several times this morning and became quite emotional when thinking tthat this is what he should be doing more often. 'One Day More' was a fitting finale for a programme celebrating musicals and again showcased Gareth's beautiful voice.

As I didn't recognise the duet, I had to do a bit of detective work this morning. I quite quickly found the song that Gareth started with - 'You Will Be Found' from 'Dear Evan Hansen' but then realised that this doesn't include all the lyrics they were singing. More searching led to 'The Story Of Tonight' from 'Hamilton' which is what Jane began with. These are two musicals that Gareth was very impressed with when they first came out. The duet was therefore a clever rearrangement of the two songs.

Good to see some lovely comments online too.

    Love xx

  5. Thanks for posting about the panto. I'm not at all surprised that it won't be happening this year. It's a great shame for everyone involved and, with almost all pantos cancelled, yet another thing that will make Christmas very different this year. I hope that Gareth will still do the show next year, as I really enjoyed Aladdin in Milton Keynes several years ago.

Gareth did his first panto (Cinderella in Wimbledon) in 2008-9. Then in 2009-10 he was in the 25th anniversary tour of 'Les Miserables', so did not do panto. Since then he has performed every year, so this year will be the first for a very long time that he won't have been in any show. I imagine that his (& his family's) Christmas will be very different in this way too.

  6. Aren't these great photos - thanks for posting on here, Maria. I'm pretty sure the guy on the left in the last pic is Gareth's guitarist for this cruise. Think he played for him at a gig I went to 2 or 3 years ago.

  7. I too expected that Gareth would be on his final cruise of the year now, then saw him post yesterday about panto rehearsals - has he had to cancel? I would have thought they would be in Nottingham, so why Media City? Confused!

  8. Such very sad news. Elaine was a lovely lady, who I last met at Gareth's gig in Peterborough last year. She will never be forgotten.

Sending love and sincere condolences to her husband, family and friends.

    Love Linda xx

  9. Gareth is joining the refurbished ship for its cruise to Bruges, then remains on it for the start of its voyage back to the Caribbean. He leaves the ship in Madeira to fly back home.

Fantastic news that Gareth is going to be performing on your cruise again next year, Doris.
