  10. Gareth+Gates,+Aaron+Sidwell+&+Lil'+Chris+lead+WYP+Loserville.html Gareth Gates, Aaron Sidwell & Lil' Chris lead WYP Loserville Date: 19 April 2012 Casting has been announced for West Yorkshire Playhouse's forthcoming production of new British musical Loserville with Aaron Sidwell, Gareth Gates and Lil' Chris joining the cast of Elliot Davis and James Bourne's new musical. Directed by Steven Dexter, Loserville will open at the Leeds venue's Quarry Theatre on 26 June (previews from 18 June), running to 14 July 2012. Set in 1971, Loserville sees computer geek Michael Dork about to invent something revolutionary, however he has also discovered… girls. Aaron Sidwell (EastEnders) plays super-geek and computer wiz kid Michael, with Gareth Gates (Les Miserables, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat) in the role of Michael’s nemesis and school rich kid Eddie. Lil' Chris (Rock School) plays sci-fi obsessed Francis. They are joined in the cast by Charlotte Harwood (Legally Blonde tour) as Eddie’s girlfriend, Eliza Hope Bennett (Inkheart) who takes on the role of beautiful and smart Holly and newcomer Richard Lowe plays Michael’s best friend Lucas. Musician and songwriter James Bourne has written four number one hit songs and played to sold-out arenas across the UK as a member of pop-rock bands Busted and Son of Dork. As an artist and songwriter it is estimated Bourne has sold over 6 million records. Davis’ musical Best Frends and Butterflies won the TicketMaster Composer Award and Best Musical for Young People. He co-wrote the music for Once Upon a Time at the Adelphi which won the TMA Award for Outstanding Musical and has also written documentaries for the BBC on music stars from the Bee Gees to Freddie Mercury. Director Steven Dexter's recent credits include West End productions of La Cava, Romance! Romance!, Peter Pan and The Pirates of Penzance. 11. He's joining the cast of Loserville, which means the date for Momentous Musicals has had to be changed. Gareth must be very well thought of for the whole arrangements to be changed to accommodate him. Originally scheduled for Saturday 14th July 2012, Momentous Musicals starring Gareth Gates (Joseph, Les Misérables) and Rachael Wooding (Jersey Boys, Hairspray) will now take place at New Wimbledon Theatre on Thursday 19th July 2012 to allow Gareth to join the cast of Loserville at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, which runs through to Saturday 14th July 2012. The producers of Momentous Musicals commented: “Having worked with Gareth since his first West End concert A Spoonful of Stiles & Drewe, we are pleased to support his ongoing commitment to musical theatre in its many forms. When asked if we could accommodate him joining the cast of Loserville, we wholeheartedly wanted to make it possible for him. It is a fantastic opportunity for his many fans to see him on stage in a brand new musical.” Patrons with tickets for the original date will be contacted by New Wimbledon Theatre within the next 24 hrs, and all existing bookings will be transferred to the new date.

  16. Its good to hear Gareth still gets talked about in Spain. Thanks Alicia. It would be lovely if you could translate the article for us.
  17. Well, I suppose, if you put it that way. I'm really looking forward to it too Maria. Should be a fantastic evening and we will probably get to hear Gareth singing some new MT songs, which will be fab.
  18. I didn't do anything Snowdrop. He approached me with a message on Twitter. @valjcooper Hi Val - just saw the massive thread on MM on the website - can you let them know it will have songs from plenty of shows in it! I just had to confirm which website he meant and it was this one.
  19. John, the Director of Momentous Musicals has asked me to let you all know that there will be songs from plenty of musicals in the show. He can't say which ones yet as they've not been fully decided, but he saw the thread on here and wanted us to be as fully filled in as possible.
  20. Looks like there will be quite a lot of us going, which will be great. We've booked tickets and hotel. Just have to book travel now. Looking forward to this so much.

I particularly like this bit http://www.lastminutetheatretickets.com/blog/index.php/17570/speckulation-entertainment-presents-gala-concert-momentous-musicals-with-gareth-gates-and-rachael-wooding/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Two of the West End’s brightest stars, Gareth Gates and Rachael Wooding, will be performing some of the best-loved songs from classic musicals such as Wicked, West Side Story, The Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon, enriched by the addition of an outstanding dance ensemble and live onstage band.
  22. Was chatting with the Director of Momentous Musicals on Twitter and he informs me that Gareth will be on throughout the whole show, so I think we're going to get a huge chunk of Gareth's voice. That will do for me. :jump:
