I dont mean to sound a bore but there’s to much stage selfies these days, it’s like he almost can’t get on with performing as there’s so much. This is why events like Pizza Express are better, also theatre gigs, there’s always been the getting some fans in stage and the putting the mic towards people in reach for them to sing a few lines at the theatre ones but these bingo gigs just seem constant selfies etc so he’s not really getting to perform as such.

Unfortunately once you start doing things like holding the mic out and getting a few people on stage, its only going to escalate, so its really his own fault that this is now happening.

As for the Bingo Halls, I'm very disappointed that Gareth has chosen to go down this route. Its degrading for someone who can really sing. And to some extent I feel the same about the Panto's.

I'm sorry the link isn't working for anyone . I can still view it , I'm surprised I managed to save it . There is about 18 mins of Gareth's set . When it starts , this woman comes up to Gareth , large oldish lady , and he says  " she's back " , so she must have been at it earlier . She was clinging on to Gareth , and in his face while he was singing . In the end Gareth managed to escort her off stage in a nice manner , but it could have turned nasty . Gareth's voice sounded brilliant, but some  the audience were very rude . Women just kept wondering up to Gareth while he was singing , to do selfies , they did it in a very rude way I thought . Gareth didn't really look at ease and I would think he was glad when it was over . I agree about Bingo Halls Val , it had a hideous carpet which clashed with that flipping flowery suite . The security did nothing, if they were security and not just staff , one shrugged his shoulders as if to say he couldn't do anything . I did notice they were singing away to SITS .

I agree about the bingo halls, I had seen a few replies on that live video thing and tweets over the months he’s been doing bingo halls, criticising him saying oh how th mighty have fallen for example now performing at bingo halls and I can’t stick up for him against those kind of comments because there’s going to be some people who’ll say things like that. I also agree about the holding the mic out will just result in things escalating.

I dont agree as such about the pantos as they are fun and tv stars etc go in them although that said he’s not getting to show his singing ability as while it’s fun, he can for example be singing a romantic song to the princess then after a few lines turn into the jokey character coming in getting between them then knocking each other off a wall.

I have to agree I don’t like Gareth doing the Bingo Halls. And people are bound to say that he is scraping the barrel. Gareth is far too good to be singing in Bingo Halls. It gives his knockers a perfect opportunity to think that he can’t get any other work, which we know is not true but some people will think that.

Thanks Sylvia. I personally can't see it but hope others can.

On reflection:

Whilst singing in a Bingo Hall comes with a stigma (especially in the music industry) we must remember a couple of things. Gareth is not too proud to sing anywhere and it also gives those people chance to see him sing too.

I see what you mean Chris, that is true plus sometimes I think it’s a way of him starting over as a music artist without Pop Idol although of course PI will always be with him. I mean starting out again like up and coming singers performing in pubs and clubs etc like they had to do before these reality shows started.

I can view it through Sylvia's link , you can also see it on the Bristol Post link . On a positive note , the club put Gareth's performance up live online ,  people could comment , there were 366 comments when I watched ( unsure if you can still add comments ) there was the odd comment about the come down singing in a Bingo hall , but the majority were 'Wow ' isn't he brilliant etc :) There were 122 shares and 19.6 k views ( I made a note of it at the time lol )  that will have increased by now, so it certainly got Gareth out there .

Well I managed to watch it through this link Heather. I've got no words. WHY! Why! does he put himself through that. Unbelievable. He'd be much better employed putting a few videos on YouTube to attract fans, like most others do.
