Singer Gareth’s first Buxton date

The multi-million-selling singer will be at Buxton Opera House on Monday October 28 with his four-piece band

Since finishing runner-up to Will Young on the popular ITV show in 2002, Gareth has since made a name for himself in the worlds of major recording with hits including Any One of Us, Spirit in the Sky and Unchained Melody as well as appearing in musical theatre, performing in Joseph, Les Miserables, Legally Blonde and Loserville.

Gareth has also enjoyed numerous television appearances including Dancing on Ice in 2008 and in 2011 he spent time planning and filming a documentary Gareth Gates – Stop My Stutter which showed the struggle faced by people with a stammer (an impediment that Gareth has battled with throughout his life, and famously when he came to public attention on Pop Idol).

As a qualified teacher of the McGuire Technique, the show charted his emotional journey as he helped change the lives of young people.

Now 29, Gareth has recently finished touring in a concert version of the hit 70s show Boogie Nights and working on new songs for a fourth studio album with his band.

With three albums, four UK Number Ones and almost four million record sales already under his belt, now is the perfect time to enjoy Gareth’s effortless singing and immense charm.

The show starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets for Gareth Gates are priced at £20 and £22 and discounts are available.

For more information or to buy tickets, call the Box Office on 0845 127 2190 or buy online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.

Wish Ali and Gareth would stop telling us about these things as they're happening or when he's on his way.No wonder people ask what he's doing or are disappointed when they have missed him at a gig near them.

It's sometimes frustrating as I do think it's important the person doing the interview gets some feedback from listeners including fans.

Thanks for the link Val. Gareth's speech wasn't too good but still good to hear him on the radio and just lovely to hear his music played, particularly one of my favourites Sunshine.

Thanks for the link Val , I haven't listened yet , I think when Gareth makes some of these of these interviews, Gareth uses the Deliberate Dysfluency technique which has been mentioned before.

I'm glad Ali has starting tweeting more about Gareth now, she seems to be getting in to it a bit more .
