An all-star cast is being lined up for the city’s Christmas lights switch-on. On Thurs (Nov 18) Bradford’s very own Gareth Gates will join a host of local stars for the switch-on event. They include Bradford Bulls star Robbie Paul and BBC Fame Academy finalist Carolynne Goode who is starring in the ‘Dick Whittington’ panto coming to the Alhambra Theatre. There will also be top live bands, surprise guests and competitions. The Pulse Breakfast Team of Matt and Elisa will be hosting the fun live from Centenary Square starting from 5.30pm. The all-star cast will then take the stage to join together in the big switch-on at 7pm. As part of the switch-on show, Gareth will be performing a short festive solo set on stage. He said: “This will be the fourth year I have been part of the Lights Switch on show. It’s always good to come home, especially at Christmas & I’m really looking forward to doing something a little bit special” Bradford Council Leader, Coun Margaret Eaton said: “The entertainment promises to be a mix of Bradford stars, lively pop bands and fun competitions which should be a ‘hit’ with everyone. It will set the stage for the big switch-on.” Vanessa Mitchell, the Council’s senior projects and events officer said: “Judging by the hundreds of calls and emails after last year’s switch-on, Gareth is still number one in Bradford and it’s great he can make the 2004 festive show. More “We are still putting the finishing touches to the switch-on line up but we can promise a few special surprises on the night.” Ends

to be honest im happy to post detials i was given lol but will peeps take any notice of them lol who can say ive not read all the post re xmas lights so im unsure if anyone contacted them on ggates as what ever u post at times peeps always find fault with lol thats why at times i dont always post re things

as i already posted ive b in touch with bradford council thay organize the event and i posted the detials that thay told me lol im really not sure what anyone can tell us at this stage to be honest lol reading between the lines he going to be there and will preform and it starts at 7 and is on the 18nov

ohhhhhhhhhh im hurt rather have somone else slap me pse im sure he will sing but at the min thay are being careful what info thay are giving out and must admit me and electric dont really go together lol

I rang up Bradford Council and it's definitely 18th Nov. I asked is gaz there as i have too book trians etc (the more in advance i book the cheaper i get). She said nothing is written in stone lol but she said i should definitely go ahead and book the trian tickets and she said if he there he is more then likley too preform. Also i asked who the headlining act is and as yet nothing been confirmed. So ally looks like im going just u wait massive power cut in yorkshire that day (i really should not joke re these things lol ) And rachel can u clean out the shed for me again and as its getting colder can i have some more straw for my bedding lol

i think he returned sat/sun i did ask her lol and she replyed she is not aware of his where he is at the min obiously making up for lost time i expect !!! lol but she did say he normal returns once the functions are over as to be honest no need to stay as its all monies he has to pay out lol
