Gareth Gates is still "learning" about his 'Big Reunion' bandmates. The former 'Pop Idol' star is set to appear on the second series of the hit ITV2 reality show, forming a new boy band - 5th Story - with Dane Bowers, Adam Rickitt, Kavana and former Blazin' Squad star Kenzie, and he says the group are still getting to know each other. He told BANG Showbiz at the National Television Awards on Wednesday (22.01.14): "We've not really spent that much time together. We're all sort of learning about each other for now." Gareth, 29, is also competing on the final series of 'Dancing on Ice' on ITV and he admits working on both shows has left him "very tired". He lamented: "I was asked 'Big Reunion' ages ago and then I was asked to do the last series of 'Dancing on Ice'. It's fun but it's a lot of work." The 'Anyone of Us' hitmaker is getting used to sharing a stage with other singers as he's so used to being a solo artist. Gareth added: "I've been a solo artist, so it's hard to be sharing up on stage now, but it's fun. The lads are all fun. We're having a lot of fun on and off stage." Gareth - who was runner-up to Will Young on the first ever 'Pop Idol' in 2002 - is looking forward to touring with 5th Story and the other 'Big Reunion' bands, including Eternal and A1, and can't wait to perform in big arenas he once headlined. He said: "So the show airs on February 6th and I think it's on for five or six weeks. Then we go on tour. I think we're playing places like The O2 [in London], Manchester ... all those big stages again."

Hi everyone! I’m back .. Thanks for all your lovely messages. I’ve been flat out working now for the last few months – literally had only a few days off.. And on Sunday it caught up with me.. I forgot to eat properly, got all lightheaded and then the migrane struck! They had a medic at the side of the rink, in case I had to take part in the skate off and wasn’t well enough.. I would have had to tell them.. That’s live TV for you! Had much more time to relax and sleep so far this week, got my new routine, which is much different to the other ones!.. I’ve just done some interviews in my hotel room with Heat and The Sun and now I’ve got about an hour to get ready for the National Television Awards! A few of us from Dancing On Ice are going – so you might spot us! Then back to see the boys at the Big Reunion tomorrow – feels like ages!.. We’ve got a busy few days ahead, running the show through and the press launch on Friday morning.. And then back to Elstree! If I can just get through this Sunday’s show, all I have to do next week is skate !!!!! Thanks for your support, love as always, Gareth x

He was treated by the medics and got through it, but we are all very lucky he wasn’t in the skate off. So this week... Where do I start?!??! Nice to have a week off from Voting nerves on Sunday.. But we’ve been in rehearsals every day for the Big Reunion this week – it’s coming together..! You saw some of the first photos of us all together on Twitter .. It’s hard splitting myself in two – but I’m just about managing it!.. It was great meeting all the other bands this week – some I know better than others, but it feels really real when you’re all in the same room! We had a night out last night – but not too late as we were back in filming again this morning.. Then I’m off skating at Elstree late tonight! It’s all go. I’m looking forward to my first (little) lie for about a month tomorrow. Also some physio ! And... More skating!! Anyway, thanks for all the support! Lots going on – and more news to come soon! .. That only applies if Todd is in the bottom two though Gazman. The way the public voted tonight I don't think he will. Think we'll have to vote the same as we did last week for Gareth to keep him out of the skate-off. I'm prepared to do that for as long as he stays in. I would think it will go back to just one couple going out next week, but with the judges scores being included as well as the public one.

Thought Suzanne was head and shoulders better than anyone else tonight. Can't for the life of me understand how the judges marked Sam so high with the amount of mistakes he made. He didn't skate as well as Gareth did last week.
