  1. I didn't know this. The music industry is so infuriatingly arghhhhh! I have often noticed that the music channels regularly feature Gareth in their special features. Including best, worst, youngest etc. I suppose a play is a play and I doubt many people take too much notice as long as they like what they hear!
  2. What a lovely way to start my Sunday morning. I've really enjoyed reading all of your reports and seeing the pics. Many thanks.
  3. Impressive isn't it. Headphones are a must. So much to take in. Don't give up on Talking Minds nickyt. It really is a grower. And Gareth wrote it all himself too. Will have to listen again with my Isley Bros ears on this time.
  4. This amazing album has far exceeded my expectations. Each song is a journey,a master class in musicality. The variety of songs is awesome. My favourite track is Electric, this song stood out for me from the first time I heard the clip. The instrumentation on this track is brilliant. I love the guitar ending,so sultry and reminds me of Santana. New Kid In Town is brilliant too and Lost In You. I also love Gareth's vocals and everything about Can't Believe It's Over, which is odd as I didn't like the clip much! I can't keep still listening to Afterglow,in a good way, lol. Talking Minds is a grower, definitely on me anyway. This album screams to be heard live. The lucky people who went to Hyde Park already know this of course. Killers not fillers. So bloody true. Thanks Gareth for this worth all the wait album. Love it.
  5. Thanks for your great report Khelda. Thanks too Snowdrop for the video of SITS. Your estimation of a few thousand in the tent is such good news. These live performances are so important and will gradually chip away at the incorrect perceptions of Gareth by some people far more than tv interviews will. Gareth himself has said it will take time and this chance to perform is a big step in the right direction for recognition of his musical talents.
  6. Many thanks for the very prompt report from Hyde Park. 7 songs from the new album is brilliant and will hopefully generate sales from many who liked what they heard today. Great to finish with an updated crowd pleasing singalong song like SITS that everyone knows. Edits to say.....Looks like he sacked the idea of singing Living on A Prayer then!
  7. Thanks, that's good to know Maggiemags. Thanks also Snowdrop for the links. The photo is scrummy.
  8. Thanks Floz for the links. I've just listened and did enjoy the interview. Listening to AOMS with my next single ears on, (!) I'm sure it's a good choice. It's a lovely song with a positive message for a ballad and is good to sing along to,making it radio friendly imo.
  9. I think I'm pleased with this choice! I do like AOMS. Sadly I was unable to catch the interview and performance on JR earlier. I hope Radio 2 will continue to support this record for a while longer. So much for my prediction of 19 being the next single! I would expect a more upbeat song as the 3rd single. So maybe 19 will be the 4th,lol.
  10. Hi GG Fan. Do take some time to listen to Paolo's album These Streets. There's loads of live Paolo stuff on You Tube. His voice IS amazing and he's only 19! And cute! He writes from his heart and sings from his soul. From what Gareth says on his documentary and in his web chat his new album should tick both of these boxes.
  11. I really like the little I've heard of Changes so far. I'm generally a fan of more upbeat sounding songs but I do appreciate that the richness and depth of Gareth's voice is best appreciated in a beautiful ballad. Changes is a far cry,I think, from some of the over produced, dare I say old fashioned stuff of the past. I'm thinking that alot of successful artists seem to sell well/get heard with a really good ballad. Example-Robbie-Angels. James Blunt-Beautiful. Take That-Patience. Will Young did an upbeat song as his first release off his last album and it didn't do great things until he quickly brought out Old Time Love. Ballads are more memorable I suppose. Touch peoples hearts even. I've become a fan of Paolo Nutini recently. His success came with Last Request, then he followed it up with Jenny Don't be hasty which is very different and keeps his appeal open to a wide audience range. I think Gareth who says he has been doing his own 'market research' is likely to do the same and I've a gut feeling because he's done his homework he's going to do well.
  12. Wow indeed! I popped on expecting nothing much until tomorrow! How wrong I was! Thanks Hazzy for reporting Kelda's gig news. And thanks moliundaima for the brill photo. Great to see so many on here tonight.
  13. You won't read this until later but......really pleased you are going. It wouldn't have been the same for Gareth without you. I thought you'd have come under the heading of family and friends! Edits to say......When I said later I was thinking the gig was tonight! Forgot it's only Tues today!
  14. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I finally got my e-mail from 19 about the gig this morning!! Just as well I wasn't planning on going really!
  15. I registered on the new sites mailing list but haven't received any e-mails from 19! I learned about it today from my e-mail sent from GPG. Thank you. You're a star. Hope you are able to video it.
