I'm round at a friends having a few drinks... Watching X-factor on Sky Plus. Lucie is amazing! VOTE LUCIE! X

On last night's evidence, I'd pretty much have to agree - wasn't overly impressed by any of them.

  2. hehe, just seen a post re his wearing 2 socks, and him saying : do you think its weird?

But its gone now, I think he posted it on the wrong forum.

And he is following 2 people now.

    I've got it:

You think the 2 sock thing is wierd?! FACT: @johnowenjones is part of the 'UK Roller-coaster Association' ?! Whatever that means ;-)

See this thread for what he's talking about.

Funny that more than a couple of his replies think that he's written a book! Nice to see that he's on there a bit more often. Hopefully John Owen Jones will really get him into it - he posts regularly.

  4. Report from the event from here:

Youngsters’ efforts are recognised at first ceremony of its kind in Bradford

    6:49pm Sunday 11th October 2009

    By Marc Meneaud »

Pop star Gareth Gates and Emmerdale actor Tom Lister were among the celebrities at the first charity dinner of its kind to recognise the efforts of disadvantaged young people in Bradford.

The celebrities were joined by sports stars including Bradford City manager Stuart McCall and athletics World Championship silver medalist Peter Elliot, at the award dinner at Bradford Grammar School.

Organised by the One In A Million charity, co-founded by Bradford City assistant manager Wayne Jacobs, the event was to recognise five youngsters who had made a significant difference to their community.

Wayne Jacobs said: “It was an outstanding evening to celebrate the children and young people of our city.”

The awards on the night were presented to Thomas Watmough from Queensbury for achievements within athletics, Peter Waters from Wrose won outstanding volunteer, and the contribution to the community award was won by Levi and Jacob Guy of Canterbury, Little Horton.

Stuart McCall presented the award for most consistent team to the Samba Boys, an indoor football team from West Bowling, and the One In A Million award was presented by Gareth Gates to Thomas “TJ” Stokes from Canterbury.

Since starting out with seven children attending football coaching on the Canterbury Estate, One In A Million now helps more than 750 children and young people each week,.

Sessions include football, athletics, basketball, street dance and Kwik cricket.

The charity also works with the Bradford City Girls Centre of Excellence, offers arts and media courses and works with young people who are not in employment, education or training.

The inaugural charity dinner, held on Saturday, was also attended by local busineesmen and women, councillors and Sports Minister and Bradford South MP Gerry Sutcliffe.

Wayne Jacobs said: “It was a truly memorable occasion which will not only have had a positive effect on the children and all those in attendance but the lives of those who will go on to help through the work they are doing alongside One In A Million.”

  5. Sorry I've been so long in adding my two penn'orth - had all sorts of PC problems and not been able to post on here.

As I boarded the train from Preston to the big smoke I noticed that it was called 'Clic Sargent' and felt that this was a good omen for the show in store the following evening. And so it proved. The whole thing was absolutely fantastic. To use Gareth's vernacular - a proper wicked show.

He of course was the highlight and, by the sound of his reception, not just for me! It was a joy to see and hear the way in which he was received. I noticed more than one person turn to the person they were with and clearly express surprise at just how good he was.

Lovely as well to see the interaction with him from others as they all assembled on the stage for the finale. I was just SO proud. The guy just wins over every single person he meets.

Thrilled to hear the clips Snowdrop - so kind of that person to pass them on to you - there'll certainly be a donation winging it's way to CS from me! Brilliant that we can all listen to him over and over again. Thanks so much for posting.

  6. This is brilliant! :hyper: I was just flicking through the channels and landed on TMF when the rundown was at number eight. I wondered if it was the same vote and, as Take That scrolled by followed by Will and Alexandra I never imagined that I hadn't missed Gaz and then! There he was! :frantics:

He certainly brightened up a pretty grey Sunday afternoon! Well done everyone!

  7. Anyone still wanting to go to this, but not got tix? A friend of mine has asked me to post this:
