  1. You are in luck Val - it's online now. http://www.bbc.co.uk...rammes/b01hpkbk

It was a great interview, with some good questions, and an excellent opportunity for Gareth to sell himself as a musical theatre star.

Well done on your text Khelda. They are a show that reads out a lot of texts and emails, so I think it definitely pays to show an interest, whether it's with a question, or a simple thank you. It all adds up. :D

  2. There is an article in today's T&A that raises several issues about fostering and the care system. One of the stats is that a child goes into care every 22 minutes in the UK. To mark this, they are planting 22 trees. Gareth will be planting one!

To further highlight the campaign, Mr Gates, whose parents are foster carers and have looked after about 50 children over the years, is supporting Foster Care Fortnight. He will be planting the first tree in a new Looked After Children’s Woodland in Roberts Park, Saltaire, next week – the first of 22 to mark the fact that nationally, a child comes into care every 22 minutes.

He said: “Many of the kids who came into our family didn’t have a great start in life and I know my mum and dad made a huge difference.”

  3. Gareth will be on the Graham Norton show on Radio 2 on Saturday 19th May. He is predicted to be on at about 12:30pm, but that's just a prediction and these thing change, so I suggest tuning in early!

The show starts at 10am and runs until 1pm.

By the way, I appreciate that this appearance has been mentioned in the thread about the BBC Breakfast one, but I thought it best they both have their own announcements and threads. :)

  4. I know - I put it on YouTube. And I posted the links for the clips in the first post of this thread!

I just thought people might like to know it was on, and to watch it on iPlayer, because it's always better quality, and because the BBC record the number of views, so it's always better if fans watch it on an official media player so long as there is an opportunity to do so. :) That's why we always prefer to wait until a show is no longer available on iPlayer of ITVplayer before uploading ourselves.

  5. Yes that was funny.

I loved the interview because it seemed he rang out of the blue. They seemed suprised to hear from him.

I've never listened to this radio station, so I can't be sure, but I know it's quite common to have a feature where the DJs have to interview a surprise guest with no proper preparation. It's always a worry that the DJ won't be sure who they are - even when they've been told, which is probably why they think it's funny. :shiftyninja:

Good job they know Gareth! And I agree that it's wonderful that Gareth has all of these new opportunities to talk about his work these days. :D

  6. Nice video wonder if its in Gareths lounge as I think the lamps from the christmas tree pic are in the background.

I have just been on You Tube to comment on the video so would be nice also if he could get more comments on there about the video.

I will go to the Facebook page also to comment, forgot about that.

I thought it might be the same place as they did the Loserville launch, as there were exposed bricks in the photos from that.

I think they are keen for people to like and share the page and clip on YouTube as it's all good advertising for the show. I got the impression from something I read somewhere (not sure where) that there will be more cast announced for the show, but the way it's being set up, it's going to have a lot of Gareth. I think it will be a real treat for those who can make it.

  7. It's common for the first few shows of a new run to be cheaper. In theory, it's because they are less practiced, and there is more likely to be a technical hitch, so they make them cheaper so you can't complain if it's not super-polished. In practice, I think it's to encourage people to go early in the run, and get bums on seats, so word of mouth can get going.

There is probably a press night one night, which usually marks the start of full price tickets.

It's also common for changes to be made to the show during previews as they see how an audience reacts and if things work as well as expected.
