mariaw81 Posted January 3, 2019 Report Share Posted January 3, 2019 I had a lovely time with Gareth being in panto in my hometown, the first time I saw it was on the second day, saw both shows that day, other days just one. Twice I went just to meet him at the stage door but then decided to see it again the following Sunday then after that with Sarahjane, Hayley and her mum Pat which was a fantastic day. Then I went to the evening show the last 2 days before the final day as I was working that day, think that may be the last time I’ll ever see him perform 6 times and meet him 7 times so close together, it’s a time I’ll always treasure. Like other reports say this panto was such a good laugh, every time I see new cast for the first time I’m wary thinking what if they are rubbish. They were all good especially the main characters, the guy playing Buttons was the star of the show for me apart from Gareth of course, he’ll always be number one. Each time he’s been in Cinderella I saw other than Belfast has been real ponies which was always beautiful but was interesting to see mechanical horses with the carriage which was very pretty floating over the stage and front of the audience, being at the front I could see the metal arm it was attached to. Small parts of the show change towards the end of the run as I don’t remember one of the ugly sisters wigs coming off towards the end at the crazy part where Gareth, ugly sisters and buttons are doing what they’d be working as if they was no longer at hard up Hall, poor Buttons being hit with a frying pan, truncheon etc lol then more water thrown at the audience when he’s being a window cleaner. I’ll post Sarahjanes and Hayley’s pics too as I’m sure they won’t mind, some with Connor McIntyre who played Pat Phelan in Corrie who was a really lovely person in reality. Makes a change to all that travelling you have done in the past. Great to see so many photos too. No leave it where it is.
