Soalnya acara yang bertajuk "MTV Staying Alive Music Summit 2004." ini enggak cuma menghadirkan deretan band-band ngetop Indonesia aja tapi juga ada Gareth Gates yang emang sengaja datang buat ngedukung acara ini. Acara yang digelar di area Pantai Carnaval Ancol ini dipadati sekitar 10 ribuan orang. Selain untuk memperingati hari ADIS sedunia 1 Desember 2004 lalu, tentu aja kehadiran anak nongkrong MTV ini buat ngeyaksiin performa dari para band-band atau penyanyi idolanya. Ikut meramaikan acara itu, Peter Pan, Gigi, Naif, Seurieus Band, Padi, Netral, Audy, Nita Thalia, /Rif, dan RRT . Selain menghibur mereka juga memberikan himbauan seputar HIV/AIDS untuk para pengunjung. Acara baru digelar pukul 16.30 Wib, tapi para pengunjung udah mulai maramaikan area pantai sejak siang hari. Mereka udah pada numplek di depan panggung acara. Sampai-sampai pihak penyelenggara kasih info kalo acara baru akan dimulai pukul 16.00 Wib Dari pada pada bete nunggu, para pengunjung pun bubar ke area tenda-tenda sponsor yang telah disediakan. Menjelang sore, barulah pasangan VJ MTV Nirina – Daniel muncul buat ngebuka acara. Sebagai pembuka tampil pendangdut seksi Nita Thalia, kemunculan musik dangdut sebagai pembuka emang sengaja sebagai pemanas suasana apalagi goyangan Nita itu bikin penonton jadi grrrr….. Usai Nita tampil, kini grup band Naif yang giliran unjuk gigi. Mungki karena kelamaan nunggu kali ya, terus ditambah dorong-dorongan antar penonton bikin korban-korban mulai berjatuhan. Enam abege terpaksa dibawa dengan tandu lantaran pingsan dan puluhan lain terpaksa dibantu pihak polisi keluar dari area depan pertunjukkan. Menjelang Maghrib acara sempat distop selama 2 jam. Untungnya para pengunjung enggak kecewa. Malah yang terlihat semakin banyak penonton yang berdatangan. Acara pun dilanjutin lagi. Yang kali ini dikeber dengan penampilan Netral, Gigi dan Seurieus Band. Penampilan mereka bikin suasana malam di pantai semakin seru. Masing-masing artis yang naik panggung selalu menyerukan pada penonton bahaya AIDS dan seruan untuk menghindari Napza maupun seks bebas, Puas dengan penampilan para artis cowok, kini giliran Audy. Di tengah gelombang ombak pantai Carnaval Audy menendangkan lagu-lagu hitnya salah satunya Luka Sendu. Kehadrian mantan pacar Tyo Dewa ini bikin histeris para penonton Lepas Audy menemani penonton, giliran penyanyi imut asal Inggris, Gareth Gates yang menembangkan single terbaiknya "Anyone of Us". Heboh banget, soalnya nggak tanggung-tanggung, Gareth turun dari panggung menghampiri anak nongkrong yang ada di barisan depan. Yang dibelakang Cuma nyengir aja ngelihat temen-temennya salaman dengan Gareth. Gareth Gates turun, langsung disambung dengan penampilan musik keras dari /Rif. Penampilan band asal Bandung ini bikin suasana makin panas. Setelah itu muncul pula gru band Padi. Acara pamungkas ditutup dengan penampilan grup band yang lagi naik daun, Peter Pan. Lagu-lagu yang dibawain Ariel cs ini emang sangat akrab di telinga anak nongkrong MTV. Mereka pun ikutan nyanyi bareng. Selama rentang waktu pertunjukkan tersebut, lagi-lagi banyak korban pingsan karena kepanasan. Terlihat lebih dari 20 orang harus dikeluarkan dari area pertunjukkan bagian depan. ”MTV Staying Alive Music” yang digelar MTV Indonesia emang terbilang sukses.
