  1. How exciting if it's right! Thanks Val.
  2. Thank you very much Snowdrop for the radio 1 clip. It was a joy to hear Gareth speaking so confidently.
  3. Snowdrop, I just wanted you to know that in no way do I think that Jordan is a National Treasure! That is Lorraine's words. The only sort of treasure she is, is one you bury! I wish we could. I did wonder why she seemed to have so much power. Do hope it doesn't stop Gareth from doing well . We are all sick of hearing about the Jordan thing , but I bet she's loving the attention again. Gareth is doing the right thing by being nice about her. We all know that hell hath no fury! Hope it all stops soon, it should be about the music!
  4. I'm not overly impressed with Lorraine's article. When Gareth used to be on GMTV I thought she was very fond of him, and he sang WMHWTS and Sunshine on her prog. Since when were they covers? In her column the other week she referred to Jordan as "on her way to becoming our National Treasure", which I thought was very funny. But Jordan is on GMTV a lot now, and they all seem to like her, so perhaps if you get past the fact that she has a big mouth, maybe she is ok. Gareth said she was when you get to know her. What I'm trying to say is that although it's nothing to do with anyone else, Lorraine appears to have taken her side, hence the remark that Gareth should apologise. He has already said in one of the interviews that he hopes he bumps into her one day, and then he will. It makes you laugh really. I still can't like Jordan, and no-one has ever sggested that she apologises to the many people she insults.! I,'too, wish that the Press would let this go, it's crazy to keep on about a mistake that a 17year old boy made. I do hope they give it a rest soon, and i must say that as much as i like Lorraine, this article of hers when she hasn't got the facts right, is very disappointing.
  5. Khelda, as you went to the gig please tell me which of the songs were rock. From the clips that I've heard, 19 minutes was definitely not a ballad, if you say mid tempo then which are the rock ones? My other half referred to it as soft rock, so I am interested to know.
  6. Joe Mott seems to change his views very quickly. The other day he said he only liked 19 minutes, which we know is a rock song. Now after the showcase he says Gareth should only sing ballads, not rock. Gareth is great at rock! His outfit was not dodgy. I, too, love him in a suit, but that would be going back to Pop Idol again. He looks great in jeans, and I saw at the first gig, he was wearing a waistcoat. I love that, and I'm sure he will set a trend. I think Joe Mott could be a little jealous of Gareth's obvious attractiveness.
  7. Thank you Floz, the photos were lovely. Oh the memories! I agree with Khelda, it's lovely that they mentioned his awards. He still has more than the other british singers abroad.
  8. Thank you for that Floz. Well it seems Gareth is still very newsworthy. That must be a good sign! :hyper:
  9. Thank you to everyone who posted these links up to the articles about Gareth. Most of it is very positive, but like you all, I wanted them all to lkie his new music. I'm sure people will intime, because it's quite a change(No pun intended) to get used to. He really is back in the news now, and it's wonderful. However, i do wish they would let the Jordan thing go, when will it be laid to rest? It's over five years, and they both have soeone else now. I think he was very loyal to her considering she sold the story and gave such embarrassing details of their relationship. :
  10. I don't like Joe Mott's review, it's the first one printed I believe, and my fear is that Gareth has read it. Not a nice thing to do to him just before he performs his showcase! :
  11. I can't see how to play the clip, but could someone just type up what was said for me please. I'm glad Radio 1 are going to the showcase.
  12. I've been out all evening, and just come home to this wonderful news! Gareth looks so handsome and mature in the pic. I'm just so excited! :hyper:
  13. Good luck for Wednesday Gareth. Let them all see just how good you are. We already know , and don't need any convincing. If you put all your feelings into your performance, as always, you can't fail! You are truly a star!
  14. I was very excited to hear about this! Did he always showcase his music before? I don't know. Do we need to check all the daily papers on Thursday? Now is his chance to show the music industry just what he's about this time! :hyper:
  15. Well Val, I'm pleased to hear you've got going. I've just logged on to get a message telling me that there are no surveys in my area at the moment.
  16. I have had an email to say welcome to Songpeople. I presume they will send me an email to tell me when there is some music to be listened to. Can't wait to hear Gareth and praise it to the skies!
  17. Thanks for that. You've boosted my confidence!
  18. I've signed up too. Anything to help gareth. Just hope i do it right when they contact me.
  19. Wel, the mind boggles! But if it does, i hope we get told so we can go to one.
  20. Hello Fruitytaste and welcome! We all love Gareth here.
  21. You're welcome! I could spend all day talking about Gareth!
  22. I didn't go to the gig, so have only heard snippets from the new songs. I thought 19 minutes would have been the one because it is a mix of ballad and rock, and very catchy. However, I have to say that I love all of Gareth's songs, because it's Gareth singing them and he's special. Changes is a beautiful song, and if it means so much to him, I can understand that he would want to release it first. A valid point was raised about ballads doing better than upbeat songs, so I think he would have put a lot of thought into which song would be the best one to do first. Gareth's voice is so soft and gentle, so full of emotion , that I defy anyone who recognises good music, not to be moved by it. You can tell it comes straight from his heart, and his sincerity shines through. I have said this before, his new music is haunting, and it leaves an unbelievable impression on you. I think women particularly are going to love it, and the new mature Gareth will widen his fan base even more!
  23. That's wonderful Ralla, you're so clever. The more I hear Gareth's songs, they seem to get better and better! Definitely five stars.
