  4. Nice review here from last night at Baths Halls in the Scunthorpe Telegraph http://www.scunthorpetelegraph.co.uk/REVIEW-Mad-Musicals-Scunthorpe-s-Baths-Hall/story-27952319-detail/story.html REVIEW: Mad About The Musicals at Scunthorpe's Baths Hall By simon_scun | Posted: October 09, 2015 Gareth Gates who performed in Mad About The Musicals in Scunthorpe. Comments (0)FANS of the West End were treated to a dazzling display of musical numbers in Scunthorpe last night (Thursday, October 8). Mad About The Musicals celebrated its 10th anniversary tour in style when it visited the town's Baths Hall armed with a score of songs and a certain pop star by the name of Gareth Gates. Sharing the stage with show director and singer Michael Courtney, along with three female vocalists, the stage was lit up with the sounds of the musicals. Gareth is no stranger to the West End having taken centre-stage in a number of musicals, but here his fellow cast members shone every bit as bright as the pop star. The chemistry between Gareth and Michael was electric and the audience were even treated to some light-hearted dialogue between songs. Mad About The Musicals kicked off the first-half with songs from Miss Saigon, Copacabana, Doctor Zhivago and more. It was clear the show was holding back the big numbers for the second half but it was good to hear a variety of tunes. And we were treated to a medley of songs from We Will Rock You just before the interval, including Gareth belting out Queen's We Are The Champions. After the break, the show continued to pick up the tempo with tracks from Funny Girl, Starlight Express, A Chorus Line and Annie Get Your Gun. I was very impressed with the female vocalists and the chemistry between the singers. Gareth looked like he enjoyed every minute of it and his voice matched the talent on the stage. The show ended with songs from Jesus Christ Superstar and possibly the most popular musical of all time, Les Misérables. Although I didn't know all the songs during the evening, I enjoyed taking a trip through musical history with this talented cast
  5. Thanks for posting up SarahJane's picture Maria. Its a lovely pic.
  6. Thanks for your report Maria and thanks for putting up your lovely pictures for us to see. I agree it was lovely to hear him sing some songs we've not heard before. And it was also lovely to be able to buy the CD so we can listen any time we want.
  7. Glad you enjoyed listening to Gareth Kirsty. To be fair, he wasn't not on stage for very long in this show. Like SarahJane said in her report normally we only get him singing a few songs in this kind of show, so we were spoilt in this one. I really, really want to see it again. Thank you for posting up your report.
  8. Thank you for your report Doris. Glad you enjoyed the show, but what a shame the audience weren't too receptive. Thank you also SarahJane. Your reports do make me chuckle. Lucky you having front row seats and able to see the pattern on Gareth's suit. It looked like leather to me too, but we were quite a way back so could be wrong.
  9. Very brief little video message from Gareth here. @TheBathsHall . @Gareth_Gates visits The Baths Hall this Thursday in Mad About The Musicals. Click below for a special video msg! pic.twitter.com/f2wPjcYoF9 https://twitter.com/TheBathsHall/status/650985603358674944/video/1

  11. I hope so too Heather. I'm hoping Gareth is just being his modest self rather than that his voice actually was `awful' as he put it. You did well remembering all those songs Linda. Seeing them written down makes you realize just how much singing Gareth does in this show. And I still wanted it to go on at the end.
  12. I hope you both have a fantastic time tonight. The show is a real treat. I had a fantastic time last night. Linda was so kind and drove down to pick me up, take me to the show and then drive me back again. I really can't thank her enough. I'm going to leave her to give you the details because to be honest I can't remember half of it already, other than know that it blew me away. It was very obvious that Gareth and Michael have so much respect for each other and the rapport between them was a treat to watch. Gareth's hair has grown back quite a bit down the sides and I think it suits him so much better this way. He had Missy with him last night and she was out in the foyer with Karen Courtney helping her with the CD's and programs. She looked so intense and was really enjoying herself. She made me laugh when I asked her who won when she played bowling with her Daddy and she said she did. She then went on to say she beats him at everything, so I said `yes but you can't beat him at singing can you'. `Oh yes I can she said' with a huge beam on her face. She is such a gorgeous little girl and such a credit to her parents.
  13. Thanks for posting Linda. Great to hear Gareth's voice was back to its perfection. Love to hear he sang several different songs too. Can't wait to see the show tonight. Looking forward to seeing you later.
  14. Had a text from Chris who is at the show tonight. She said it is a fantastic show and Gareth's voice is on top form and that he's having a ball on stage.
  15. Have a great time anyone going to the first show tonight. Wish I was there with you all, but unfortunaately couldn't make it this time.
  16. That was lovely Chris. Thanks for finding it. I've put it on Twitter.
  17. I hope there will be one I can get to next year and that someone can come with me as I don't think I'm going to make the Redditch one next week.
