  1. Thank goodness. I am poised for recording, but I'm in constant fear it'll give up.
  2. They must be filming it - so he'll be on tomorrow
  3. Poor you. This year's "crap band" isn't that crap. Much better than last year. I noticed they didn't mention Phixx in the line-up?
  4. I thought we should have a dedicated thread for general chit-chat that starts when the on air bits start. You should hopefully be able to listen online http://www.pulse.co.uk/pulseindex.htm'>here. For some of the technical issues and instructions on recording go http://garethpaulgates.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=510&st=0entry6671'>here.
  5. It's freezing here too. Balaclavas required.
  6. As soon as I saw that he was planning a US Eastenders I thought - that's why Mal's left. Fascinating stuff.
  7. Very, very lovely. Thank you. It's a nice big image and will hopefully get people thinking.
  8. If you are a member of the GarethMail MSN group and have Word, you can see a leaflet on the CDs you may wish to show interested friends. http://uk.msnusers.com/GarethMail/Document...0leaflets%2Edoc
  9. Thank you, it makes for interesting reading. I don't know about the current figures, but solvent abuse used to be the most common form of substance abuste leading to death in teenagers to die. More so than the drugs so often heralded as bad - such as heroin. It is also sadly the case that about 50% of those who die due to solvent abuse do so the first time they try it (properly - I don't think sniffing the tippex counts). It's very sad, and can take kids who would not be considered likely to get into trouble and wouldn't touch conventional drugs, but are simply curious. I don't think Chantelle could have actually been in any of Gareth's classes if she was 16 when she died, but it's possible he knew her through extra curricular activities, such as choir. It's great he can provide a media friendly focus for their work.
  10. If you are going to the Lights you might like to mention it to a few people too.
  11. I'm so glad you enjoyed them. I put a link up in Performances on ggates, but I see one of the mods has deleted it. I thought at first the image was taking a while to load, but then I realised there wasn't anything there to load any more. I know we aren't supposed to advertise directly on ggates, but they've always turned a blind eye to discrete plugging when it's for charity in the past. I didn't get any kind of PM from any of the mods of that section, so I think they knew they were being petty. But there are still orders coming in and we are on course to raise a substantial sum for B&S. We'll get there eventually.
  12. If you see one you like the look of - describe it, and we can let you have it.
  13. I'm afraid it is only for people in the UK at the moment. Click on my banner to get the full details.
  14. Glad to hear it. There are a few ready and waiting to be posted as soon as the cheques are received.
  15. I'm glad everyone is enjoying it. I'd love that we took the credit for having a fast website, but the fact is that it's what should be expected of fan-sites. The BMG one is beyond terrible and even on days when it's supposedly 'good' it's rubbish compared with other sites I visit. A lot of people had just given up on ggates altogether, and even if they read they didn't join in. Let's hope we can reverse that trend.
  16. What we are about These boards were originally set-up by a group of Gareth fans as an alternative, but not replacement to Gareth's Official Site (which no longer exists). It is run by fans for fans and we hope to make this a fun and enjoyable place to be. The site is open to all fans, in particular those who wish to keep up to date with the news and join in with some thoughtful debate with a sense of humour. If we were a film we'd give ourselves a rating of PG-12. Please read THE RULES for more details of what that means and what sort of behaviour we expect. Access to the different forums All guests can read this section, the main Gareth News forum, Gareth's Music, Gallery Gates and our archives. To join in and to read additional sections (including Gareth Chat and Promotion ) you will need to be a member. If you have read and are happy with this over-view and the rules, please sign-up for access. When you sign-up, please select the option to receive emails from administrators if you wish to be kept up to date with occasional messages on developments on the site or important news. If you have a problem, or have a suggestion regarding this site, please email: gpgoriginal@gmail.com We wish this site to stay Gareth focused, but even the most keen fans have other things to talk about so there is an Off-Topic section where you can discuss TV, films, books, other music and anything else that takes your fancy. This is an added feature open to fans who have contributed to the main Gareth sections. Please don't hesitate to come and join us. We would love to have you on board. A welcome to you all.
  17. Can you see it? If you can see it then you must have Word. I'm not sure why it wouldn't print though. Try saving the file doing a right click and save target as, then opening it normally. See if that makes any difference.
  18. If you would like a colour cover you can open/download this file. Click here It's in Word, so apologies to those who do not have it.
  19. I'm so please people are enjoying them. I'll be sending out another batch on Monday to those who have sent their cheques. I'll also upload a Word document with colour version of the covers, so those with colour printers can download that and print it off. I'm afraid the practicalities of doing mass colour copies was too tricky, so the CDs come with just black and white covers.
  20. Pop-up blockers are a pain. They sound good in practice, but they stop you from opening loads of things.
  21. I've no idea why it's working for me and not you. All the usual advice about deleting temporary files apply, but there should be a trouble-shoot bit in your media player. It opens in it's own player, but it might still use media player. Or it might be your firewall.
