  5. Well done for copying it all across. Very useful
  6. Yes, it's fantastic news, but so frustrating we have to find out months after the event. They can't even claim that they didn't know about them, because if Gareth filmed an acceptance speech then someone official would need to know, and it would be down to BMG in China/Taiwan to contact BMG in the UK to get him to film it. He was probably filming his acceptance speeches for Asia the same day he did his video message for us.
  7. BMG tell us nothing. They didn't tell us about the award last year either. They seem to keep everything secret. Like the album.
  8. Overlapped you. All too fast. I'm not sure if China is part of MTV Asia, but the different parts of MTV Asia have their own awards too. Remember, last year Gareth got the Best Newcomer from MTV Taiwan. However MTV China fits in with MTV Asia, it's a different award and great news. China has quite a small music industry at the moment, but it is really growing, and if he can get his foot in now, he could do very well as it expands. There is potentially a massive market.
  9. Haha, I just saw it on there too (on email, boards too slow to keep checking). Just as well I'm slow. Excellent news and it's great he could get over to China, even if it was for a few days to consolodate that. I had wondered if it's a waste for Gareth not to do more promotion in Asia off the back of his MTV win as he's hardly spent any time there compared with most artists, and could use it to become much more established. Hopefully he did some local press while he was out there.
  10. Don't let Hazel hear you say that. I adore Foolish too, and have done from early days. It annoys me it's on the Day CD as it would fit better on Night, and is probably the only reason I bother with Day. There are other songs on Day I like, but it's the only one that makes me put it on. The song that has been the biggest grower for me is Freak My Baby. I liked it to start with, but it's definitely benefitted from repeated listens.
  11. Brilliant work. Hi Vicky - glad you could join us. Especially with a banner and avatar like that. Wow.
  12. It was Kelly who would supposedly be in touch with him later today. These extra (bigger) images have now been posted by Cutiebonnie.
  13. It's possible they want to keep quiet about sponsorship work he's doing abroad because some people object to that kind of thing when you are supposed to be working hard on your new album and/or a serious artist, but considering most of the media are trying to present him as someone with three remaining fans, and that's what most of the public believe, then it must be in his best interests for them to show off a little bit about these things. I wonder how they decide these things and what their reasoning is - assuming they did some in the first place.
  14. We are very aware we do not want to take anything away from the Official Boards as it is important there is a healthy community there to keep posting the news for visitors who find that link on CDs or in magazines or from a search engine. But unfortunately the community has become eroded because it's such hard work to post anything. People struggle on to read, then go away again fed-up and the number of people contributing has been deminishing. These are not people going off Gareth, it's people who are fed-up. We can't make the ggates boads work, but we can provide a place where people can have the interesting debates we've been lacking on ggates and if people join in here and we can get a decent community going, some of that will filter back onto ggates.
  15. Thank you for those kinds words, but I need to stress that everyone involved has played a part and helped out. It has been a big team effort between Administrators and all the Moderators and everyone's contribution has been very important and valuable.
  16. I was wondering if he might do something like that, but if so - let's hope it's not quite so high-profile. The J-Lo one was naff and I think counter-productive. It has often been commented on that Gareth has model looks, and it's quite common for UK or American stars to do endorsements in Asia, but not closer to home - so it's all possible. I'm sure Gareth would love to do the opening concert, and attend the Grand Prix, but it's still a long way to go for just that. Unless they paid lots and lots of money.
  17. That's a very flash suit - I hope he got that free and got to take it, and a few more home with him. Great first post btw Heather.
  18. As this was very popular, and information we'd like to save I thought I'd copy across the results of the top 12 tracks from GYOW from Baldyman's poll. 1= Absolutely 1= Foolish 3 SIIS 4 ACO 5 Sunshine 6 Listen to My Heart 7= Enough of Me 7= Freak My Baby 9 Groove With Me 10 Skeletons 11 GYOW 12 Club Hoppin' Voting and commentary from Baldyman as below: 31 Absolutely 31 Foolish 30 SIIS 29 ACO 27 Sunshine 26 LTMH 25 Enough of ME 25 Freak My Baby 23 Groove With Me 22 S*******s 21 GYOW 20 Club Hoppin' --------------------- 18 Soul affection 12 Just Say Yes 12 Lies 8 It Happens Every Time 7 Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now 7 SITS 5 Too Soon To Say Goodbye Summary: The positions in general reflect what appears to be the main consensus, that the Night CD is preferred to the Day - the top 12 are split 8 to 4 in favour of Night and the bottom 4, which are well off the pace, all come from Day. However, it isn't all bad news for the Day CD, as it has 2 from the top 3 and 3 from the top 6. Since increasing the choices from 10 to 12 the only significant mover has been LTMH, which has gone from 10 to 6. It is no surprise to me that Absolutely is at the top of the list, though Foolish shares that spot, which might surprise some. Perhaps these 2 should be a double A side release? ACO, which is supposedly the next release has also faired well, though I still remain unconvinced about its suitability as the next single (I'm in the minority here). As listed here and here.
